Boxing Hall of Famer Teddy Atlas was joined by friends, celebrities, and supporters over the weekend at Rab’s Country Lanes, where the community turned out in support of the Dr. Theodore A. Atlas Foundation on Sunday.
Actors Chuck Zito and Holt McCallany, as well as sportscaster Russ Salzberg joined Atlas on the lanes, where funds were raised for the organization’s many charitable works.
“It was a great day of fun with friends and family, watching kids laugh and enjoy pizza and prizes while also knowing that today no one could throw a gutter ball, because every toss counted, as it provided help to people in our communities who are in need!” said Atlas.
“It was great to see so many people from different areas and neighborhoods and walks of life all in one room, enjoying each other’s company with one thing in common, the desire to be happy and to share those feelings with others,” he added.
The event was sponsored by Empire Commercial Services, LP, InteliClear, LLC, OpenHand, Sullivan&Galleshaw, LP, ATU726, McMahon Construction, and Our Island Real Estate.
The Foundation’s charitable endeavors aim to aid people in a variety of difficult situations, particularly children. The money raised helps create incentive programs in schools, distribute food to impoverished Staten Island neighborhoods, and is directed to numerous other beneficial outlets.
