National Volunteer Week is coming up! April 15th through April 21st is the week set aside to focus on giving back to the communities we live in, whether locally or globally. At Rab’s Country Lanes we’ve got all kinds of ideas for recognizing this celebration of selflessness.
- Host a fundraiser at Rab’s to raise funds to donate to a charity or nonprofit. We have two different options, but either way, your group or organization will receive a portion of each admission during a specific time and day. It’s the easiest fundraiser you’ll ever host, and also the most fun.
- April is also Keep America Beautiful Month and National Gardening Month, so why not get outdoors? Volunteer to clean up a local park (check out a list here) or work in a community garden, like one of these.
- Volunteer opportunities aren’t one-size fits all. Fortunately, there are hundreds of nonprofit organizations in this area, and most of them have opportunities. Click here to find the right volunteer opportunity for you and your family. You can search by interest, location, and even look for child-friendly opportunities.
- If your place of work relies on volunteers, recognize them! Something as simple as a sincere thank you card will go a long way. Of course, a trip to Rab’s for bowling fun will go even further!
No matter how you choose to spend National Volunteer Week, remember to keep a positive outlook and enjoy yourself–and don’t forget to reward yourself with an evening at Rab’s Country Lanes afterwards!
